Hi

I have already installed dhcp rpm but i m not getting rpm for dhcp relay agent.

so i m not getting /etc/sysconfi/dhcrelay file.

What can i do now?

What is your rhel version ?

Execute rpm -qa | grep dhcp and please send output here.

In my case, I have just installed dhcp package and i have got file in /etc/sysconfig and also got service installed.

Hi,

My rhel version is 2.6.18-53.el5.

When i execute rpm -qa | grep dhcp, all dhcp packages are installed
but nothing for dhcp relay.

If u have latest version can u provide me source?

When i have tried cat /etc/issue, it shows me rhel 5.1.

For rpm -ql dhcp | grep dhcrelay, i m not getting any answer.

so dhcrelay package is not installed.

Can you repeat the following steps ?? and give us the out put also ?

Hello,

I have done this steps. I got the result as shown below.

[root@server ~] # rpm -qa | grep dhcp

dhcp-3.0.5-18.el5

[root@server ~] # rpm -ql dhcp

i got some file not all. Is there any problem in source package?

Means accidentally the files are deleted.

To check what files are deleted give following command.

rpm -V dhcpd | grep missing

To resolve the problem.

rpm -e dhcp

yum install dhcp or
rpm -Uvh dhcp-3.0.5-18.el5.rpm
if have some problem
rpm -Uvh --force dhcp-3.0.5-18.el5.rpm

pls download the dhcp rpm from here and run this command. rpm -Uvh dhcp dhcp-3.0.5-21.el5.i386.rpm

it should resolve your problem.

I want to prepare two different ranges. One for 172.24.0.1 to 172.24.0.100 & other fro 172.25.0.1 to 172.25.0.100.
My problem is that how can i prepare dhcp server with this configuartion.
